Position Title: Program Assistant/ Media Specialist (CCN)

Job Summary

The Program Assistant/ Media specialist will provide assistance to the Anti-Corruption Commission (KAK) and other Government of Timor Leste (GOTL) organizations as may be assigned by Chief of Party (COP).

Principle Accountabilities

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Conducting and reporting fraud and corruption awareness and culture surveys
· Produces training and reference manuals to ensure all investigations are done in a fair, impartial manner.
· Researching issues to provide appropriate corruption awareness
· Answers routine process questions as delegated by the KAK Organizational Development and Outreach Advisor
· Coordinate training schedules
· Other duties as may be assigned by the COP.

Management Responsibility
No direct responsibility.

Reports to
Chief of Party or his designee.

Internal/External Contacts
This position will be required to interact with high ranking GOTL officials, members of the donor community, NGOs/CSOs and media organizations throughout the country.

Knowledge & Skills

• Ability to quickly and professionally produce press releases and public information material
• Experience as a journalist and/or media professional.
• Ability to establish good relationships with external contacts.
• Knowledge of media relations preferred.
• Excellent inquiry, data collection and analysis skills.
• Excellent reporting, writing and presentation skills.
• Able to interact effectively with all levels of government, officers and field personnel.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Language skills required: English, Portuguese, Tetum.

Experience & Education
· Candidates for this position should have a minimum of 3 years experience with media and/or public outreach activities.

• Some research experience is required.
• Previous work experience donor-funded activities.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment
· Working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and potentially challenging.
· Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
· Willing to travel to areas outside Dili.

Must be willing to travel outside Dili.
