General Functions:
Under the direct guidance of Fleet Manager and overall supervision of Resource Management Officer, the Mechanic Assistant is responsible for Maintain IOM Vehicles and updated the spare parts for IOM Mechanic workshop, In particular the duties to be carried out are:
- Services automotive equipment in accordance with maintenance schedule; inspects, diagnosis, and repairs mechanical, electrical, and other defects on automotive vehicles, including, but not limited to tune-ups, relining and adjusting brakes, tire replacement and balancing, steering gears, starters, generators, universal joints, and minor body repair.
- Immediately communicate with Fleet Manager to ensure all minor repairs are identified and addressed as early as possible as soon as inform by the drivers to avoid risk of delay through equipment breakdown.
- Inspects and tests vehicles to ensure safety. Reports irregularities and equipment abuse to the Fleet Manager.
- Secures the transportation facility at the end of the workday. Responds to transportation emergencies as needed.
- Maintain inventory control for vehicles spare parts in the workshop.
- Perform any related duties as required.
